How do humans impact the Tundra biomes? The tundra biome is a fragile environment so the things that humans have been doing to it can easily affect it. Human's have been overhunting. An example of this is that many musk oxen have been killed for food and for their skin in order to be warm. Global Warming, which is largely caused by humans, is causing glaciers to melt and creates floods which destroys many plants. Tundra biomes have natural resources like oil and nickel. Things like oil drilling have caused pollution. The pollution in the air from the oil drilling reduces the ozone layer, which allows ultraviolet rays to hit the surface which is bad for the animals and plants.
